Mission:  To be a tool in helping God's "kingdom come" and His "will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

Yep, that's from the Lord's Prayer.  :-)

In everyday language, that just means that I want to use my writing and speaking to spread Jesus.

Why would I want to do that?  Well, like all of us to varying degrees and in different ways, I've been called to it.  God has commanded each of us to go and spread His Good News to the ends of the earth.

If you think about a pebble dropping in water and the ripples it makes, you can easily apply that ripple effect to ministry.  My first ripple (and yours) includes those closest to me--my family; they're my primary ministry.  The ripples that spread out from there range from co-workers, friends, and my community, all the way to total strangers.  God has prompted me to use my experience with writing, speaking, and training to influence all of my ripples.

Passions and Special Areas of Interest:

*Young People--Growing up is now more difficult than it ever has been.  Cultural influences reinforce destructive behaviors unlike any prior generation and at younger ages.  Let's help young people not just grow up, but grow up in the Lord.

*Women's Issues--Today's woman also struggles with cultural influences that pull her away from seeing herself as God's gal.  We need to open up about ourselves and our struggles to reach out to others who need to know about our Power source.

*Church Unity--I'd love to see denominational walls blur as the global church body makes God smile as He looks down and sees his kids getting along! Loving others to Him is what Jesus did; as his body it's what we're to do.  The "us vs. them" mentality just doesn't fit in true Christianity and it definitley turns off non-believers.  Let's get over our differences and see how much more we can accomplish through Christ when we join forces.

What others are saying:

*Kathy Lay has been a valuable member of our freelance writing team. I recently worked with her on a series of devotionals and her writing was always top notch--well written, within the parameters I set, delivered on time, and completed with high quality. She is also highly creative. My editorial team at Livingstone made it a point to mention that her entries were always well written. I recommend her writing to anyone interested in creativity and quality.--Linda Taylor, Editorial Director, The Livingstone Corporation (www.livingstonecorp.com)

*You have a charming style and I love your sense of humor.--Glynnis Whitwer, Proverbs 31 Ministries.

*Kathy, you are so funny and were very creative in your use of stories, scriptures, and analogies.  You're honest and vulnerable, but you exhibit courage.  Your enthusiasm made me smile and fill with joy as I listened.--Wendy Blight, Proverbs 31 Speaker Evaluator.
